Often ignored as one of the most important pieces of safety equipment!
Best Bower:
- 10 Kg Lewmar Delta, This size is recommended for boats 9 - 12 metres and upwards of 7 tonnes, double the weight of Sancerre, a 6Kg Delta (with 6mm chain?!) is recommended for boats up to 9.5m. (2018). Stainless anchor swivel (2021).
- Lewmar V700 electric powered all stainless, gypsy winch (2024), foot controls and wired remote.
- 42 metres of 7mm, MF Catenificio Frigerio (Italian) grade 40 ISO766 chain (MBL 3,059 Kg, 1,631 proof tested) which is both calibrated and proof tested at the factory (2021).
- 38 metres of 12mm nylon (MBL 3,300 Kg) spliced to the chain (2018).
- Stainless chain stopper and deck guard (2017). Davis "Shockle" anchor snubber & Stainless chain hook.
#1 Kedge & spare Bower:
- Original forged 11Kg CQR, recommended for boats up to c12 metres.
#2 Kedge & as a weight to back up the Bower:
- 10 Kg Osculati Admiralty Pattern folding stock anchor (2020).

- 100m of 12mm 3 strand nylon (BS 3,300Kg), (2020) compatible with the windlass so could be swapped with the rope rode (given time) or tied to it, given time to organise.
